For 4 years the SYMSITES project has been developing new technologies and solutions based on the Industrial-Urban Symbiosis concept. Its outputs have been implemented in four so-called Ecosites in Austria, Denmark, Greece and Spain, aiming to improve the sustainability of the use of industrial and societal resources starting from wastewater and waste materials. ,

The final SYMSITES webinar will take stock of the project’s work, highlighting the key replication outputs and the broader progress on Wastewater Treatment, as well as the use of process byproducts and waste treatment.

This webinar aims to bring together the learnings of the project lifetime for local authorities, public and private utility companies handling waste and wastewater, industrial representatives, academia and other relevant stakeholders interested in R&D or development of symbiotic exchanges. At the same time, the webinar contextualises Industrial-Urban Symbiosis approaches in the bigger picture and brings perspectives to move from the implementation of the first pilots to large scale uptake.
